I am a qualified and experienced couple and individual psychotherapist. I completed my specialist training at Tavistock Relationships, a unit of the Tavistock Institute of Medical Psychology and an internationally recognised centre for couples counselling and psychotherapy, training and research.
In addition to my private practice Elle Sidel Therapy in London, I have been working at Tavistock Relationships as faculty staff in the training deparment and as senior visiting clinician in the general clinical service. I have also worked in a number of Tavistock Relationships' specialist services, including with the Parenting Consultation Service Team, which provides support for individuals and couples seeking a confidential space to make sense of the challenges that caring for children can present to maintaining satisfying adult relationships.
I have an MA in Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Individual and Couples Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy (Tavistock Relationships/University of East London). I also hold a PhD from Cornell University. I have completed further professional training, including for the Online Service and the Divorce and Separation Counselling Service at Tavistock Relationships.
I supervise clinical work for a training organisation and offer private case consultation for qualified clinicians. I teach a year-long theory seminar on a clinical psychotherapy training course.
I am a Member of the Tavistock Institute of Medical Psychology, a Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust Alumni, and a Supporting Member of the International Psychotherapy Institute (U.S.A.).
I am a registered member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and I adhere to their professional code and ethical guidelines.
